Art at the Carousel House
An exhibit featuring new works by visiting artist Mike Shine (CA)
and additional works by the Artists of the Wooden Walls Project.
Mike Shine is presenting works created in the historic Carousel House during his 4 week residency there.

*Join us on Friday, September 28th from 7-10pm to view and purchase works from the artists of the Wooden Walls Project at the Carousel House.

This inspirational Beaux-Arts structure was designed by New York Beaux-Arts architects Whitney Warren & Charles Wetmore (designers of Grand Central Station). Carousel #87 from the Philadelphia Toboggan Company was installed in the ornate Carousel House in 1932. The Carousel operated from 1932-1988 before being sold to Family Kingdom Amusement Park Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Throughout the years, it has been the character in many incarnations; from The Casino Skate Park, to Revision Theater Productions, to the site of weddings and markets. It has also been featured in film and music videos and most recently, Forth Union Skate Park.

For the past two month, the Wooden Walls Public Art Project has called this beautiful structure home. Inviting artists to the space to (hopefully) gain inspiration from this special structure and create site-specific pieces. We are happy to open up this space to show you what these artists have been up to inside.

The Carousel House will be open on and off all weekend long in case you cant a make it to the opening. Just look for the doors to be opened and then come inside.

For more information about the works from this exhibition, email us at

Stay tuned for other events by artists of the Wooden Walls Project coming this September and October. Follow Wooden Walls Project on Instagram, Facebook and their website.
