SUMMARY:Paint on Pine
DESCRIPTION:Imagine an entire street transformed into a vibrant outdoor art studio where creativity knows no bounds and imagination runs wild. That’s exactly what’s happening at Paint on Pine\, where for one day\, Pine Street is closed to traffic and opened up to unbridled artistic expression! \nLed by local artist and educator Meagan Greenberg\, this family-focused extravaganza invites children and adults alike to roll up their sleeves and dive into art-making. \nKids will delight in creating collaborative murals that transform blank canvases into explosions of color and story. They’ll construct fantastic sculptures from ordinary cardboard\, turning the everyday into the extraordinary. At the bicycle spin art station\, physics and creativity collide as children witness their artistic visions whirl into existence. \nThis is a memory-making experience where families connect through art\, where community grows stronger with each brushstroke and where Pine Street becomes a gallery of possibility. \nBring your curiosity\, your creativity and your kids. No artistic experience needed — just a willingness to play\, experiment and make some wonderful memories together. \nFREE EVENT \nPine Street\, between 2nd and 3rd Avenues\, Asbury Park\, NJ

SUMMARY:art629 Gallery presents Art of the Educator
DESCRIPTION:“Art of the Educator” celebrates the artistic talents of art teachers in New Jersey. Inspired by a recent exhibit at the MOMA featuring art teachers from NYC public schools\, art629 curator Brittany James wanted to create a similar themed exhibition for New Jersey art teachers. As an artist and educator herself\, she is aware that balancing both careers can be challenging at times\, but she finds that bringing her artistic identity into the classroom can also create a contagious passion and excitement for art making and learning.\n\nArt education is crucial for developing well-rounded individuals and fostering a more creative and engaged society. It provides numerous benefits\, including enhanced cognitive skills\, emotional development\, and improved academic performance. Art education also plays a vital role in promoting cultural awareness\, collaboration\, and critical thinking.\n\nIn current times\, arts education is facing cuts and funding issues in many schools\, leading to reduced or eliminated programs. This is often due to budget constraints and a shift in educational priorities towards other subjects. The impact on students can be significant\, limiting access to creative outlets and potentially affecting their academic and social-emotional development.\n\nThis exhibit bring awareness to the prominent role teachers play as inspiring artists who are promoting the importance of art education for students of all ages. \nArt of The Educator Features the Following Artists: \nFrankie Mainieri\nGeanna Merola\nJill Alexander\nJude Harzer\nKristin Künc\nLouis Esposito\nMeagan Impellizeri (Meagg. E. Moon)\nVictoria Steel\n

SUMMARY:Crumb with guest Kasie Krut
DESCRIPTION:North 2 Shore presents\nCRUMB\nwith special guest Kassie Krut \nNew York psych-pop band Crumb return with AMAMA\, their most carefree and open-hearted album to date. A soundscape full of playful and patchwork experimentation — glitchy pitch-shifted vocals\, cell phone recordings\, nautical blips\, sax mouthpiece solos\, blasted drum samples\, and piano strings dampened with Silly Putty — AMAMA continues to deepen the band’s hypnotic sound in a cohesive line back through 2021’s Ice Melt\, 2019’s Jinx\, and breakout EPs Locket and Crumb. Without a doubt\, AMAMA is Crumb — singer and multi-instrumentalist Lila Ramani\, keyboardist and saxophonist Bri Aronow\, bassist Jesse Brotter\, and drummer Jonathan Gilad — at their most animated.
