Spare yet lyrical in its language\, American Graphic is a concentrate of feeling and vision. \nABOUT THE AUTHOR: \nJoAnne McFarland is a multidisciplinary artist\, writer\, and curator. She is the Artistic Director of Artpoetica Project Space in Gowanus\, Brooklyn\, which exhibits works that focus on the intersection of language and visual representation. Her poetry collections include A Domestic Lookbook and Pullman\, both recently published by Grid Books\, Identifying the Body and the digital album Tracks of My Tears\, both published by the Word Works\, and Acid Rain\, published by Willow Books. Surprisingly\, virtually all of the youths return. But sometimes they don’t. \nFour out of the original six members of The Amish Outlaws were born and raised in Lancaster\, Pennsylvania and had a strict Amish upbringing. No electricity from land lines\, no alcohol\, no musical instruments\, but their spirits were too wild for the Amish lifestyle. Once they trampled in the Devil’s Playground\, there was no turning back. In the years since Rumspringa\, the members of the Amish Outlaws have become very well acclimated to the pleasures and vices of the modern world
 music\, most of all. Hip hop\, rock\, country\, metal\, disco\, opera. There is no genre they do not touch upon.
