SUMMARY:📚 End of Summer Fundraiser Celebrations at Asbury Book Cooperative 📖
DESCRIPTION:Help us reach our Summer Fundraising goal! \nThe Asbury Book Coop (ABC) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit and independent bookstore located in downtown Asbury Park. For six weeks this summer\, we are running a Summer Fundraiser to support our community programming and general operations\, as well as to purchase books for the annual Asbury Park Summer Backpack Drive. \nWhat is a nonprofit organization (NPO)? \nAs a nonprofit\, ABC operates under a self-sustaining business model. That means that every dollar you spend in the store or donate to ABC goes directly to supporting our mission. \nIn addition to sales and donations\, we also support our work through grants\, ticketed events and  fundraisers\, memberships\, volunteer hours\, used book donations\, corporate sponsorships\, major gifts\, and community partnerships. \nWhat’s the Summer Backpack Drive? \nThe Summer Backpack Drive is an Asbury Park institution. Hosted by our wonderful partners at Community Karma\, each year it provides thousands of local school kids with backpacks and supplies to start the new year. \nThis will be our 3rd year partnering with Community Karma. Our goal is to distribute more than 1\,000 books at the end-of-summer block party — but in order to do that we need your help! \nWhat else does my donation support? \nIn addition to supporting our general operations and the Asbury Park Summer Backpack Drive\, your donation helps us continue to provide a variety of free community programming\, including visits from local authors\, concerts\, workshops\, poetry readings\, wellness events\, and book giveaways. Our goal is to keep the love of books alive down the Jersey Shore and cultivate a sense of community within our beloved Asbury Park. \nIs my donation tax deductible? \nYes! All donations are tax deductible; a receipt will be provided to you upon your donating. \nAre there any other perks to donating?  \nAnyone donating $50 or more will have their name displayed on the ABC “Giving Window” for the duration of the Fundraiser (unless you elect to donate anonymously). Those donating higher amounts will also receive the following ABC “swag” in store with proof of donation: \n\n$100: Free ABC pride sticker\n$500: Free ABC pride sticker AND notebook\n$1\,000: Free ABC pride sticker AND notebook AND tote bag

DESCRIPTION:Join us for an author panel with Tim DeMarco\, Darci Schummer\, and Raki Kopernik discussing their process on developing a novel. \n\n\n\n\nThree fantastic authors Tim DeMarco (Release Me)\, Darci Schummer (The Ballad of Two Sisters)\, and Raki Kopernik (No One’s Leaving) will be joining us at the bookstore on Sunday\, August 9th at 6pm for an evening discussing their most recent titles and the process of bringing a novel into volition. \nThis event will feature Unsolicited Press. All authors are published with this prominent indie press. Founded in 2012\, Unsolicited Press (living the dream in Portland\, Oregon) focuses on the works of the unsung and underrepresented. As a woman-owned small publisher that doesn’t worry about profits as much as championing exceptional literature\, they have had the privilege of partnering with authors skirting the fringes of the lit world. The vibe at Unsolicited Press is rebellious\, relentless\, and philanthropic. All of the net profit is funneled back into the business to maintain operations. \nEvent Ticketing: \nThe $5 ticket reserves your seat and you will receive a $5 coupon to use at the time of the event. There are three other teirs of tickets priced at the cost of each book: $18.95 – RSVP & a copy of RELEASE ME\, $16 -RSVP & a copy of THE BALLAD OF TWO SISTERS\, $18.95 -RSVP & a copy of NO ONE’S LEAVING.
