The Expo presented by New Jersey Natural Gas / Save Green will start at 5:00 pm and run until 7:30 pm. \nThe event has been called the most exciting consumer and business expo at the Jersey Shore. In addition to hosting scores of vendors\, Robby from 107.1 The Boss will be entertaining the crowd and giving away great prizes. In addition to food samplings and local crafters\, vendors will include banks\, professional services\, representatives from the health and wellness industries\, law firms\, home improvement companies\, media\, non-profit organizations and more. In the early 1970’s\, Bob spent several years with Pete Seeger\, appearing on many albums as a Sloop Singer\, and helping to stage events that brought attention to the environment and the severe pollution of the Hudson River. \nOur annual open-air music festival celebrates the spirit of people working and singing together to protect our environment. DESCRIPTION:SPUR PLANS FAMILY BARN DANCE FUNDRAISER\nPut on your dancing boots and grab your Stetson! \nSPUR (Special People United to Ride) is hosting its third annual fundraiser Family Barn Dance on Sunday\, September 28\, 2025. The event will be held in the Thompson Park Activity Barn\, 805 Newman Springs Road\, Lincroft\, from 1 pm to 4pm. \nProceeds will benefit various aspects of SPUR’s therapeutic horsemanship program. The SPUR Board of Directors raises monies for need-based SPUR lesson scholarships for individuals with disabilities\, funds horse purchases and horse retirements\, and provides other material assistance to the Monmouth County Park System for the implementation of SPUR programs.\nThe afternoon will be filled with music and line dancing instruction provided by BTK Entertainment. This year\, we are joined by the Ocean Avenue Stompers\, and we walk to support the residents and the programs of The SHORE House and National Youth Homelessness Awareness Month. \nAs you well know\, the roots of youth homelessness are many and complex\, and the numbers of unhoused youth rise 28% year-over-year.\nWe live in unprecedented times. Consider this:\n• 1 in 4 youth aging out of foster care will experience homelessness within four years.\n• 40% of those evicted and living on the streets are children and teens between the ages of 8 and 18.\n• In Monmouth and Ocean Counties\, the 2025 Point in Time counted over 1200 homeless individuals\, a 70% increase between 2021 and 2025.\n• Statewide\, 872 persons were between the ages of 18 -24.\n• Black and Latino youth are 83% and 33% more likely\, respectively\, to experience homelessness than their white peers.\n• LGBTQ+ youth are 120% more likely to suffer abuse\, abandonment\, and homelessness. \nThese aren’t just numbers. These are lives—teens and young adults from our neighborhoods who are slipping through the cracks. We will order your book and place it in our donation bin. \n—– \nIn-store Donations: \nCome to the store\, browse our kids room\, and purchase a book from our wide selection of fantastic kids titles to drop in our donation bin! \n—– \nMonetary Donations: \nCan’t decide on a book to donate? We can do it for you! We are happily taking monetary donations that can be directed to the 2025 Holiday Book Drive program to help with the selection of new books and the operational cost of distributing new books to the Asbury Park community and beyond!
