SUMMARY:Buckethead at the Stone Pony
DESCRIPTION:Buckethead is a virtuoso guitarist and multi-instrumentalist who performs within many genres of music. He has released over 700 studio recordings\, way more than anyone else in the history of music. 650+ of those are in his Pike series. He has also performed on over 50 more albums by other artists. His music spans such diverse areas as progressive metal\, funk\, blues\, jazz\, bluegrass\, and avant-garde. \nWhen performing in his theatrical persona\, Buckethead used to wear a KFC bucket on his head\, emblazoned with an orange bumper sticker that reads “FUNERAL” in capital black block letters\, and an expressionless plain white costume mask. More recently\, he has switched to a plain white bucket no longer bearing the KFC logo. He also incorporates nun chucks\, robot dancing\, and toy trading into his stage performances. Buckethead’s persona represents a character that was “raised by chickens” and has made it his “mission in life to alert the world to the ongoing chicken holocaust in fast-food joints around the globe.” \nAn instrumentalist\, Buckethead is best known for his electric guitar playing. He has been voted by GuitarOne magazine as one of the “Top 10 Greatest Guitar Shredders of All Time.” Guitar World credits Buckethead for “ushering in [a] new era of virtuosity.” \nBuckethead has most recently performed solo and with a 3-piece band. This May\, the beloved community event launches at Press Plaza\, bringing together music lovers\, art enthusiasts\, and families for a night of free entertainment and creative fun. \nOn Thursday\, May 1st from 5pm to 9pm\, Press Plaza will transform into a vibrant hub of culture and connection. Enjoy live music performances from regional acts\, catch live art demonstrations\, and participate in hands-on creative activities. Kids can explore free craft stations while adults browse and enjoy the energy of the evening. \nThe event is free for all ages\, making it the perfect way to kick off your May evening. Whether you’re looking to discover new artists\, support local talent\, or spend quality time with family and friends\, First Friday delivers something for everyone. \nThis month’s performers include Alexander Simone\, Circle Drive\, and The Band Palm.
