Fire Marshal Tawheshia “Tee” Gates attended the event and accepted the award on behalf of the department. \nThe recognition highlights the department’s strong leadership\, dependable partnership\, and steady commitment to public safety. The Red Cross noted the department’s ongoing collaboration on the annual MLK Day of Service Home Fire Campaign\, where firefighters and Red Cross volunteers work side by side to install free smoke alarms\, share fire safety information\, and help protect residents throughout Asbury Park. The next Home Fire Campaign initiative will take place on Saturday\, January 17\, 2026. \n“We are grateful for this recognition and for our ongoing partnership with the Red Cross\,” said Fire Chief Kevin Keddy. “Every smoke alarm installed and every family reached through this campaign makes our community safer. Our firefighters take that responsibility to heart.” \nCity Manager Adam E.
