SUMMARY:Asbury Park PorchFest
DESCRIPTION:5th Annual Asbury Park PorchFest\nSaturday\, October 2\, 2021 \nThe AP Homeowners Association’s 5th Annual Porchfest event will be held on Saturday\, October 2nd from 1pm-6pm on porches all around town. Local bands and performers will play at the family-friendly\, free event\, which features musicians from a wide variety of genres. Attendees can stroll from porch to porch and relax on front lawns and sidewalks as they enjoy live\, local talent. \nPorchFest was founded in Ithaca\, NY in September 2007. Over the years\, the concept of hosting performances on front porches for an audience that moved from home to home has grown with communities around the U.S. participating. Asbury Park’s passionate connection to music\, its beauty and camaraderie\, and its beautiful porches make it an ideal town for our own annual event\, which is a favorite of locals and visitors alike. \nHomeowners around AP have donated the use of their porches and lawns for a safe\, fun event\, which will follow pandemic protocols as they stand in the fall. Full details will be made available on the FAQ page of the PorchFest website\, and a program guide will be available on the day of the event. A map of porches and performers will be posted on https://APPorchfest.org a few days before the event. \nPorchFest is completely coordinated by volunteers who believe in the power of music and understand that engagement builds strong communities. You can show your support for local music\, the arts\, and your community by sponsoring a porch\, placing an ad in the event program guide\, or by making a donation\, which helps the Asbury Park Homeowner’s Association and supports the community. In previous years\, donations helped create the mural on City Hall\, plant public gardens throughout Asbury Park\, and provided music education scholarships for local kids who otherwise could not afford them. Asbury Park PorchFest is a 501(c)(4) non-profit organization. Donations are not tax deductible. Those interested in being an event sponsor can reach out to the AP event founder\, Jordan Modell\, at JordanModell@gmail.com for more information. \nAdditional details will be posted as they become available\, so be sure to check the website at https://APPorchfest.org and follow the organization’s social media accounts:\nFacebook – @AsburyParkPorchfest\nInstagram – @APPorchfest\nTwitter – @APPorchfest \nContact: Jordan Modell

SUMMARY:Interpol + Spoon
DESCRIPTION:INTERPOL + SPOON\nLights\, Camera\, Factions Tour\nwith support from The Goon Sax \nInterpol began in New York in 1997\, when guitarist Daniel Kessler recruited bassist Carlos Dengler and singer/guitarist Paul Banks to form a band. In 2002\, with Sam Fogarino on drums\, the band signed to Matador records and released Turn On The Bright Lights\, which made it to 10th position on NME’s list of 2002’s top releases and Pitchfork named it the year’s #1 album. Over the next decade and a half Interpol would go on to wide critical and commercial acclaim\, with five subsequent high charting records on the Billboard 200; earning rave reviews across the map from Rolling Stone to TIME; performing on late night television shows and playing major festivals like Coachella and Glastonbury and headlining Mexico’s Corona Capital. The band (Banks\, Kessler and Fogarino) have just finished recording their latest studio album with legendary production duo Flood & Moulder\, due for release this year through Matador Records. \nSpoon’s tenth album\, Lucifer on the Sofa\, is the band’s purest rock ’n’ roll record to date. Texas-made\, it is the first set of songs that the quintet has put to tape in its hometown of Austin in more than a decade. Written and recorded over the last two years – both in and out of lockdown – these songs mark a shift toward something louder\, wilder\, and more full-color. Halfway through the recording process\, the pandemic hit. The studio shutdown\, but frontman Britt Daniel continued writing. “There are songs I wrote last spring [of 2020] that I wouldn’t have come up with otherwise\,” he says. “It was that first-of-its-kind moment.” Lucifer on the Sofa is the sound of that moment\, a record of defiant optimism\, the sound of a band cracking things open and letting them spillout onstage. At a time fraught with uncertainty\, it’s shutting the door on the devil you know and never looking back.

SUMMARY:Andrew McMahon & Dashboard Confessional
DESCRIPTION:Andrew McMahon in The Wilderness & Dashboard Confessional\nHello Gone Days Tour 2022\nwith Armor for Sleep \nRaised on the East Coast and in the Midwest\, McMahon began writing songs at age 9\, drawing inspiration from singer/songwriter/pianists such as Elton John and Billy Joel. While still in high school\, McMahon co-founded an early incarnation of pop-punk band Something Corporate\, whose 2002 major-label debut hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Heatseekers Chart. In 2004\, he formed Jack’s Mannequin and then on the cusp of releasing the band’s 2005 debut was diagnosed with leukemia at age 22. Eventually fully recovered\, McMahon went on to release two more studio albums with Jack’s Mannequin and established The Dear Jack Foundation\, one of the first Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) specific cancer foundations which advocates for and supports initiatives that benefit AYAs diagnosed with cancer. In addition\, McMahon composed songs for the NBC series Smash which earned him an Emmy nomination. In 2014\, he released Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness which featured the gold certified single “Cecilia and the Satellite.” Last year he released his memoir\, Three Pianos. McMahon lives in Los Angeles with his wife of 12 years Kelly and their daughter Cecilia\, for whom the hit song was penned. \nDashboard Confessional’s ninth studio album\, All The Truth That I Can Tell\, is both a remarkable renewal and fortunate step forward for the band’s songwriter\, front man\, and founder\, Chris Carrabba. Having ascended great heights over the past 20 years\, Carrabba found himself at a distinct crossroads as the last decade came to an end. Running on fumes\, unsure if he’d ever release another album\, he waited. The songs eventually came\, and though the project might’ve easily come to a screeching halt following a near-fatal motorcycle accident in the summer of 2020\, All The Truth That I Can Tell stands among Carrabba’s finest – a strikingly potent musical look at himself through a rediscovered keyhole\, both an achievement of vision and a vital burst of artistic clarity; less like reading someone’s diary and more like reading their eyes. \n4:00 Inside Pony Door\n4:20 – 4:55 Coming In Clutch\n5:10 – 5:55 Shallow Green\nSpecial Late show Inside the Pony\n10:30 – 11:30 City Vision

SUMMARY:Asbury Jams
DESCRIPTION:PERSONS AGE 21+ ONLY ADMITTED \nThe Wonder Bar and ElmThree Production present a new Thursday night series called Asbury Jams. Each Thursday night beginning on July 7\, we will showcase national touring\, regional and local acts from all genres. The goal is to bring outstanding music for a low price and keep the crowd coming. Every week we will showcase this talent for the low price of $10 plus applicable surcharges. \nAugust 25: Joe Hertler & the Rainbow Seekers\, Dry Reef \nJoe Hertler & the Rainbow Seekers will make a sprightly young groove doctor out of anyone. With spectacular energy pulsating from every member of the band\, the Rainbow Seekers could illuminate the very chambers of Heaven. Lead singer Joe Hertler splashes through lyrical puddles of golden rain\, leaving his audience wearing flowery crowns and bubbling smiles. A ride on the Rainbow will take you across the mountains of Motown\, through the fjords of folk\, over the archipelagos of Americana\, and-at last-into a funky firth\, where only the fiercest of friendships can be found. \nThe Rainbow Seekers began their historic quest 8 years ago\, revolving around the pure\, unadulterated songwriting of their fearless leader\, Joe Hertler. Ryan Hoger was the first among the Seekers to find this lonely songsmith and recognize the twinkling magic in his beard. The young boy gave up all his earthly possessions (besides his guitar\, of course) and became the first disciple of the Rainbow. With this\, the core of the Rainbow was thereby established\, and it didn’t take long for the Rainbow Seekers to continue their expansion. Multi-instrumentalist and notable auxiliary percussion maestro Micah Bracken journeyed from the bowels of Atlantis when he heard tell of the Rainbow\, and the earth trembled as saxophonist and all-around badass Aaron Stinson descended from Olympus on a golden rainbow of his own. Then came thunder from the depths of space and as it picked up the bass\, a soft exhale escaped the lips of every princess within a hundred moons\, “Bambis\,” they cooed. All the while\, on the other ends of the earth\, a young boy was hard at work\, honing and sharpening his sticks for the day that the Rainbow would come his way\, and when it landed at his door\, Ryan McMahon climbed aboard. \nSince the early days\, their quest has brought them across the nation and upon such noble gatherings as Bonnaroo\, Electric Forest\, and Summer Camp. As you’ll know if you’ve seen the band\, seeking the proverbial Rainbow is all about the live performance. “The live show is the purpose of the band. This is why we make music. Playing music is a symbiotic process\, the crowd is as much a part of it as the musicians. We give as much energy and love as we can and we can feel that coming from the crowd as well” says Hertler. “We believe that performance is not a High Art operation\, and that you should do anything you can to ensure that the crowd is having a good time. From piñatas to confetti\, to fog\, to flowers\, to drum solos\, to strobe lights\, to Thor\, to sword battles-literally anything goes.” \nIf you’re still reading this\, at least one thing is true: The Rainbow Seekers have been waiting for you. If you’ll only let them\, they will shake the dust from your wildest expectations. They will roar into your life with rapturous frequencies\, exuberant tone\, and a joyfulness of purpose that has truly become a rare sight on stage. Join them in their celebration\, and they will take you on a never-ending journey to a place you’ll never be able to describe in words. \nOpening is Dry Reef.
