Getting to revisit and celebrate the music from that special time of our lives while experiencing it alongside a lot of people that lived it with us back when\, and new folks alike.”\n“It couldn’t have happened any sooner\,” says Lewis. “It feels like now is the time to share that joy and love with each other and\nwith everyone else.”\n“For some people\, Rilo Kiley evokes a formative\, emotional time in life\, when you were maybe grasping for your place in the universe. While in their former bands\, guitarist and vocalist Mike Chick and drummer Biff Swenson met playing shows in Seaside Heights and Asbury Park\, and considered jamming\, which began after Chick bought a baritone guitar and suggested they start a two-piece band. Yawn Mower is known for their fuzz-rock guitars\, crunchy hooks and sense of humor as The Jersey Journal describes their blend of music to be “spazzy surf rock” and a “comedic two-man guitar/drums act who look and sound like two of The Muppets.” They released several EPs independently and on in the Clouds Records\, and opened for the alternative rock band Electric Six. Stretching 1.25 miles from Chatham Square to Cooper Square\, it was a Native American footpath\, Dutch wagon road\, and the triumphal march route as Washington’s troops expelled the British. The city’s first entertainment district\, it has seminal ties to tap dance\, vaudeville\, Yiddish theater\, Houdini\, modern tattooing\, and American song. It was the working-class main street for sailors\, shopgirls\, sporting men\, gangs\, gays\, and immigrant Irish\, Italians\, Chinese\, Jews\, and Germans. It saw America’s first free Black homesteads\, first streetcars\, first baseball club\, and first free university. It boasts New York City’s oldest brick townhouse\, oldest hotel\, and first community garden. It witnessed labor marches\, riots\, and Lincoln’s famous antislavery speech at Cooper Union.
