DESCRIPTION:FREE EVENT!\nAll are welcome to join NEURODIVERSITY DAY! There will be Story Time\, Music Therapy\, and Sensory Crafts!\nAn all ages event designed to embrace all the different beautiful ways we learn\, take in art\, music\, literature and navigate the world!\nThe day will start off with a story time at 11am ! Reading Core Boards designed by Equinox Speech & Language Services will be provided to everyone for the story time and also to take home! This board is to help express emotional responses non-verbally and encourage comprehension of the story.\nThere will be a music therapy session at 12pm with Donna & Nicky! Donna and Nicky Unverricht are identical twins and music therapists who have been performing since age 12. Multi instrumentalists who are classicly trained\, they seek to share their love of music and connection with others.\nWe will close the day with sensory crafts at 1pm. We will be creating sensory snails for spring! With various touch friendly items we will build paper snails with touch and feel shells. The perfect reading buddy.\nAll kids welcome accompanied by an adult! \nPLEASE RSVP!

Sketch and build their own layered sculptures using cardboard. Learn how to create depth\, texture\, and bold features while turning simple recycled materials into art. Whether it’s a self-portrait\, an alter ego\, or a totally imaginative character\, this workshop is all about creativity\, experimentation\, and bringing your cardboard creation to life. \nAbout the Instructor: \nSamantha Treadwell is a Newark-based artist\, curator\, and graphic designer whose work transforms whimsical fantasy into layered narratives of everyday life. Through painting\, mixed media\, and design\, she is inspired by themes of family and imagination – blending childhood motifs\, repurposed materials\, and vibrant colors into emotionally resonant art. Her creative practice extends beyond the studio. For the past three years\, she has created murals through community collaboration\, curated exhibitions that create accessibility for emerging artists\, and designed graphics and branding to amplify the voices of local creatives. Samantha’s work has been featured in the Newark Museum and highlighted in The New York Times\, reflecting both her artistic vision and her deep commitment to the Newark community. Bonus: you just may meet new folks and break away from the screens for a bit. \nA little about the theater’s mission: \nShore Thing Theater’s mission is to provide high-quality\, live entertainment and arts education in a safe environment\, at an affordable cost\, in order to enrich the lives of our diverse community. While the main focus of the theater is improv\, this is also a space for a wide range of creative endeavors. The studio offers both short and long form improv classes of multiple levels\, as well as workshops in sketch writing\, storytelling\, stand-up and poetry. \nMost importantly\, no person will ever be turned away from a class for inability to pay. Our belief is that the arts are for everyone\, and the magic that is improv is no exception. \nScholarships\, payment plans and sliding scale tuition are available to any student in need.Shore Thing Theater is a registered business in the state of NJ a nonprofit 501 (c)(3) company. The Board for the theater consists of seven women of diverse ages and backgrounds\, with ties to the arts. Shore Thing Theater has seen a need in the area for a centralized location for the underserved. We are passionate about providing quality entertainment and education\, for the community we consider home. \nComedySportz Jersey Shore | Shore Thing Theater \nAbout the Instructor: \nRia Torricelli’s improv experience began in High School\, performing duo improvisation on the speech and debate team. At the University of New Mexico\, she double majored in acting and technical theater\, and was a member of a long form improv troupe. When she moved to New Jersey\, Ria started teaching adult and teen improv with The Count Basie in Red Bank\, NJ; youth improv with Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Asbury Park\, teen and youth classes for Eatontown Performance Prep and coaching/workshops in other theatres in NJ. In 2019 she opened Shore Thing Theater\, inside the Jersey Shore Arts Center. \nCurrently the President of ComedySportz Worldwide – the organization of 25 cities that play the ComedySportz show – she has been with them for over 15 years\, beginning with ComedySportz Portland\, continuing with CSz NYC and opening ComedySportz Jersey Shore in 2019. The Worldwide Championships will be played in NJ in June of 2026.
