SUMMARY:Oceanic Global and ASBPA National Beach Sweep: Asbury Park Community Cleanup
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a community cleanup in Asbury Park on Saturday\, August 23 from 6 PM – 8 PM at Asbury Park! \nHelp us preserve\, protect\, and enhance our nation’s beaches and shores\, and connect with our partner\, the American Shore & Beach Preservation Association (ASBPA)\, as well as other coastal advocates in the Asbury Park community! Volunteers are invited to join Oceanic Global\, and Corona USA for a litter cleanup of the area surrounding Asbury Park\, preventing marine debris and microplastics from entering our coastal waterways \nActivities:\n~ 5:00 PM Volunteer Sign-in & opening remarks by ASBPA\n~ 5:30 PM Cleanup to protect Asbury Park!\n~ 6:30 PM Impact Sorting & Closing Remarks \nEntrance\, Parking & Access Details:\nMeeting Point: Our cleanup station will be set up on the beach in front of the entrance to Asbury Park Dog Beach. \nPublic Transit & Parking:\nClosest Bus Stop: Kingsley St at 8th Ave\nClosest Trolley Stop: Dog Beach Parking Lot\nClosest Parking: Limited street parking is available in Allenhurst/Loch Arbor on site. Please consider carpooling or using public transportation! \nAccessibility: Asbury Park is accessible to people with disabilities\, offering handicap parking\, a Mobi-mat leading to the beach\, and handicap beach chairs\, with lifeguards on duty during high season\, but please expect mixed terrain. Most cleanup activities at this location should be able to accommodate a wide range of abilities and ages. Some cleanup activities that are on the shore may not be accessible. \nWhat to pack: Volunteers will be provided with clean-up supplies\, including gloves and bags. Since 2021\, Oceanic Global has partnered with Corona USA to host a nationwide series of volunteer Community Cleanups across the country as part of the ‘Protect Our Beaches’ program. Each year the program includes a series of Community Cleanups which are supported by mission-aligned local NGO partners.
