  • Starting her career at the age of 19 Tara Weldon has quickly grown to become a master hair artist. Getting started in the greater New York City area she was quickly recruited to train as an educator for John Sahag on Madison Avenue by Albie Mulcahy, the director of education. Teaching the Sahag technique (the "dry" haircut) locally, and assisting Albie at shows nationally, propelled her skill level to new heights. After six months with the company, Tara became Albie's stage partner and the youngest national educator and platform artist in the US.

Gaining press and status, Tara was recognized by her peers, and other great stylists, as a talent in the industry. In July of 2002 Tara was asked by Salon City Press to represent NYC in the Wildest Runway Show in Las Vegas. She has also worked on various runway shows and photo shoots in the fashion industry.

Over the last few years Tara has assembled an amazing clientele in New York City and Monmouth County. People who appreciate her incredible eye for design and respect her unique style and creative approach to hair. The dry cut, edgy color techniques, and innovative up-do ideas set Tara apart in the industry.

After having a beautiful daughter, Sofia, in the fall of 2002 Tara began freelancing and doing "in home" appointments. By respecting the privacy of her elite clientele, which includes several celebrities, Tara has grown her business into something truly amazing. At the age of 24 Tara opened a private studio. Less than a year later she opened a full service salon called W design studio and is currently on to her third in downtown Asbury Park on Cookman Avenue! After sucessfull launching her makeup line, Hot Mess Makeup in 2008, Tara brought her talent to her boutique salon, Hot Mess Studio.

Photographers, filmmakers, and top agents recruit Tara to bring her hair and make-up skills to their projects. As Tara continues to build her name, she is extremely dedicated to maintaining a personal and professional relationship with her clients.
