DESCRIPTION:Be a part of the 2024 Jersey Shore Chamber of Commerce’s BUSINESS EXPO\, in partnership with The Asbury Park Chamber of Commerce \nTUESDAY\, APRIL 16th\n5:00pm – 7:30pm\nBerkeley Oceanfront Hotel\n1401 Ocean Ave\, Asbury Park\nThe Asbury Park Chamber of Commerce has partnered with the Jersey Shore Chamber of Commerce for their annual Biz Expo! With over 300 attendees and over 60 exhibitors each year\, it is no surprise that this event has become one of the largest expos in all of Monmouth County. Featuring delicious food from local restaurants\, delis and bakeries\, this event is open to the public and free to attend. All attendees are entered to win our “Taste of the Jersey Shore” basket with wine and gift cards to local eateries. There are exhibitor door prizes and a special grand prize given away each year. Sponsorships and tables are available to members only.

SUMMARY:Asbury Park Museum - Opening Reception for Latest Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:We are pleased to announce the installation of our recent exhibition at the Berkeley Oceanfront Hotel. Be Our Guest\, The Golden Era of Asbury Park Hotels is the latest in a series of multi-media exhibitions by the Asbury Park Museum team currently on display through 2023.\n\nAt this time\, we would also like to invite you to our exhibit Opening Reception\, Thursday\, April 27\, from 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM. Light refreshments will be served. All are welcome.\n\n“Be Our Guest” explores the rise and evolution of Asbury Park’s hospitality industry\, from 1871 to the present day. Special emphasis is on the grand hotels of the late 1800s and early 1900s\, the factors that inspired their growth and decline\, as well as the workers who sustained them.\n\nTelling its story through rare historical views\, postcards and newspaper documentation of the featured hotels\, the exhibit is augmented by a continuous slideshow of the city’s landmark lodgings\, the often-overlooked hotels of the West Side\, and the role of the grand hotels in the evolution of early jazz and Black popular music.\n\nThe self-guided exhibition shines a long overdue spotlight on Black-owned hotels\, as well as the hotels that catered to specific clientele\, and the many smaller cottages and boarding houses of a community that once claimed more than 900 hospitality-related sites within its city.\n\nFor additional information please reach out to Kay at 732-539-7574\n\nThe Asbury Park Museum is a nonprofit organization dedicated to illuminating Asbury Park’s diverse and deeply fascinating history.
