SUMMARY:Buckethead at the Stone Pony
DESCRIPTION:Buckethead is a virtuoso guitarist and multi-instrumentalist who performs within many genres of music. He has released over 700 studio recordings\, way more than anyone else in the history of music. 650+ of those are in his Pike series. He has also performed on over 50 more albums by other artists. His music spans such diverse areas as progressive metal\, funk\, blues\, jazz\, bluegrass\, and avant-garde. \nWhen performing in his theatrical persona\, Buckethead used to wear a KFC bucket on his head\, emblazoned with an orange bumper sticker that reads “FUNERAL” in capital black block letters\, and an expressionless plain white costume mask. More recently\, he has switched to a plain white bucket no longer bearing the KFC logo. He also incorporates nun chucks\, robot dancing\, and toy trading into his stage performances. Buckethead’s persona represents a character that was “raised by chickens” and has made it his “mission in life to alert the world to the ongoing chicken holocaust in fast-food joints around the globe.” \nAn instrumentalist\, Buckethead is best known for his electric guitar playing. He has been voted by GuitarOne magazine as one of the “Top 10 Greatest Guitar Shredders of All Time.” Guitar World credits Buckethead for “ushering in [a] new era of virtuosity.” \nBuckethead has most recently performed solo and with a 3-piece band. He has collaborated with many high-profile artists such as Bootsy Collins\, Bill Laswell & Praxis\, Les Claypool\, Bernie Worrell\, Iggy Pop\, Serj Tankian\, Mike Patton\, Viggo Mortensen\, Brain\, and tons more. \n7pm door\n8pm show

SUMMARY:Tommy Conwell and the Young Rumblers at the Stone Pony
DESCRIPTION:Tommy Conwell and the Young Rumblers burst onto the Philadelphia music scene in 1984 debuting at JC Dobbs at 3rd and South. Conwell\, born in East Falls and raised in Bala Cynwyd\, quickly rose to the top of the Philly rock n roll food chain by providing long\, sweaty\, bluesy\, and often transcendent shows that audiences ate up as something different from what they were being offered elsewhere. Tommy Conwell and the Young Rumblers made the hugely popular independent album Walking on the Water in 1987 and two albums for Columbia records\, 1988s Rumble and 1990s Guitar Trouble. Rumble yielded a number one hit on the Billboard Album Rock chart\, Im Not Your Man. It was around this time that The Young Rumblers were featured in Rolling Stone magazine and appeared on Dick Clarks American Music Awards\, Late Night with David Letterman\, and the Arsenio Hall Show. The nineties saw Tommy leading Tommy Conwell and the Little Kings\, an outrageous blues/punk/jazz/rock n roll audacity and playing guitar in the loud power pop juggernaut Buzz Zeemer. He still performs with the Young Rumblers who released Showboats and Grandstanders in 2019\, and down the shore in with his four piece rock and roll band formed in 2024. The Pony will be a full band show!

SUMMARY:Chameleons with The Veldt at the Stone Pony
DESCRIPTION:The legacy of The Chameleons dates all the way back to 1981 when the band were discovered by legendary BBC Radio host John Peel. Following their debut single ‘In Shreds’ for Epic Records in 1982\, the band released three seminal albums: the widely acclaimed ‘Script of the Bridge’ (1983)\, cited by many sources to be a masterpiece way ahead of its time\, its follow up ‘What Does Anything Mean? Basically!’ (1984) and for the US based Geffen Records ‘Strange Times’ (1986). Their unique sound quickly captivated the public through their very own mix of melancholic\, yet energetic and powerful tunes\, hypnotic ethereal riffs and the potent\, timeless lyrical style. The Chameleons are considered to be one of the most influential guitar bands of the 80s and 90s\, contributing substantially to the post-punk\, shoegaze and indie scenes and are often regarded as one of the most underrated bands ever to emerge from the city of Manchester\, England.

SUMMARY:Glen Hansard at the Stone Pony
DESCRIPTION:GLEN HANSARD\nDON’T SETTLE\nplus special guest Margaret Glaspy \nGlen Hansard has announced his sixth solo album Don’t Settle – Transmissions East & West\, an expansive collection featuring live reinterpretations of some of his most loved songs from across his solo career\, as well as his work as the frontman of The Frames and half of the Oscar-winning duo The Swell Season. Friday April 24th\, 2026 will see 10 of these tracks released first as Transmissions East (Vol. 1). Hansard also shared his new version of “Didn’t He Ramble” from Vol. 1 alongside a live performance video filmed at Berlin’s historic Funkhaus during recording. About the song\, he explained: \n“Our local bar was The Ramble Inn. My father spent most of his waking and sometimes sleeping hours in there…he’d ramble in and stumble out. I wrote this song after he passed at the fair young age of 62. The kind of tribute song he would have approved of. My father was a proud man. Loved his family and his drink in equal measure. My father showed his love shoulder to shoulder\, not face to face. He drove The Frames amps and instruments around for years. Rarely staying for the show. But always there to load out the gear with the band afterward. I loved him very much and wanted to write him a tribute song he’d enjoy. I raise my voice\, and a glass to Jemo Hansard.” \nHansard and his band recorded Don’t Settle – Transmissions East & West over two nights in April 2025 in front of a dedicated audience at Funkhaus–an expansive former East German radio facility–and in many ways\, it encapsulates multiple things at once: a career retrospective opus\, a ‘Best Of’ collection\, a live record\, and a new studio album. \nThe inspiration for Don+t Settle – Transmissions East & West came from a memorable rain-soaked outdoor performance at Zuiderparktheater in The Hague in summer 2024\, when Hansard invited audience members onstage during a storm\, creating an impromptu communal experience that would help to shape the record’s concept. Transmissions East (Vol. 1) is the first release in a two-volume set with the 2nd\, Transmissions West (Vol. 2)\, appearing later this year. \nBoth volumes feature no vocal overdubs\, second takes\, autotune\, or editing–brilliantly showcasing the breadth of Hansard’s talents and songwriting. In all\, Don’t Settle – Transmissions East & West feels like an important demarcation point in an already storied career\, with Hansard looking backwards within his creative path while he moves forward–‘transmissions’ both from his past and to his future.

SUMMARY:Pop Evil - The What Remains Tour at the Stone Pony
DESCRIPTION:POP EVIL\nThe What Remains Tour\nKamenar\nSierra Pilot \nPassion. Dedication. Fortitude. Leigh Kakaty is the embodiment of these three qualities\, and for good measure\, too. For two decades\, he has needed to mine the deepest of reserves in order to drag Pop Evil up from the blue-collar grassroots of the band’s local Michigan scene to stand proud at the top of the modern rock game. Soaring successes\, bitter defeats… Leigh Kakaty has stood face-to-face with it all along the way. Leigh Kakaty has survived it all.\nWhat Remains\, the band’s eighth full-length album\, is the culmination and story of this journey with Pop Evil\, laid bare like never before. Continuing in the recent vein of 2023’s acclaimed Skeletons album\, What Remains is both sonically and thematically Pop Evil’s heaviest ever offering; a thundering collection of arena-ready modern rock and metal hits in which Kakaty opens heart\, mind and soul – pulling no punches and taking no prisoners in doing so.\n“There are a lot of issues and things that I’ve dealt within this journey of Pop Evil that I’ve buried for a long time\,” the frontman explains of this document of resilience\, perseverance and accountability.
