Oceanic Global and ASBPA National Beach Sweep: Asbury Park Community Cleanup

Join us for a community cleanup in Asbury Park on Saturday, August 23 from 6 PM – 8 PM at Asbury Park!

Help us preserve, protect, and enhance our nation’s beaches and shores, and connect with our partner, the American Shore & Beach Preservation Association (ASBPA), as well as other coastal advocates in the Asbury Park community! Volunteers are invited to join Oceanic Global, and Corona USA for a litter cleanup of the area surrounding Asbury Park, preventing marine debris and microplastics from entering our coastal waterways

Activities:
~ 5:00 PM Volunteer Sign-in & opening remarks by ASBPA
~ 5:30 PM Cleanup to protect Asbury Park!
~ 6:30 PM Impact Sorting & Closing Remarks

Entrance, Parking & Access Details:
Meeting Point: Our cleanup station will be set up on the beach in front of the entrance to Asbury Park Dog Beach.

Public Transit & Parking:
Closest Bus Stop: Kingsley St at 8th Ave
Closest Trolley Stop: Dog Beach Parking Lot
Closest Parking: Limited street parking is available in Allenhurst/Loch Arbor on site. Please consider carpooling or using public transportation!

Accessibility: Asbury Park is accessible to people with disabilities, offering handicap parking, a Mobi-mat leading to the beach, and handicap beach chairs, with lifeguards on duty during high season, but please expect mixed terrain. Most cleanup activities at this location should be able to accommodate a wide range of abilities and ages. Some cleanup activities that are on the shore may not be accessible.

What to pack: Volunteers will be provided with clean-up supplies, including gloves and bags. Come dressed comfortably for the clean-up, we recommend closed-toe shoes and bring your reusable water bottle.

ABOUT THE CLEANUP SERIES:
Oceanic Global and Corona are on a mission to clean up 100 beaches and remove 1 million pounds of plastic waste by 2025. Since 2021, Oceanic Global has partnered with Corona USA to host a nationwide series of volunteer Community Cleanups across the country as part of the ‘Protect Our Beaches’ program. Each year the program includes a series of Community Cleanups which are supported by mission-aligned local NGO partners.
