Special People United to Ride (SPUR) Announces Third Virtual Run Fundraiser

Looking for an easy way to get some exercise and support a great program?

Building on the success of previous years’ events, Special People United to Ride (SPUR) will hold its Third Annual Virtual Two-Mile Run during the week of October 1-8, 2022. The event is sponsored by McLoone’s Restaurants and C&C Air, Heat & Plumbing.

Participants can walk, trot or gallop – on foot or horseback – for two miles, anywhere and anytime that week, to raise funds to benefit the SPUR therapeutic riding program for individuals with disabilities
All registered participants will receive a long-sleeved T-shirt and have a chance to win a McLoone’s Restaurant gift card in a random drawing. Registrants can also set up their own fundraising web pages to encourage friends who don’t want to walk or run to support their efforts. Entries are $45 per person.

SPUR is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that works in conjunction with the Monmouth County Park System to provide individuals with disabilities the opportunity to achieve personal goals through therapeutic horsemanship. The Park System’s Sunnyside Equestrian Center provides a safe environment for students to enjoy the freedom of riding and handling a horse.
