Our Proud Story
Kiwanis was first established in Asbury Park in 1921, and made lasting impacts in this ever-changing community, including establishing the Kiwanis Boys Club of Asbury Park now formed and known today as the Monmouth County Boys & Girls Club. The club's membership declined with the fall of the town in the early 2000s, but the revival has sparked the need for this group.
Despite a global pandemic and a world turned virtual, Kiwanis of Asbury Park successfully rechartered in October of 2020. In this short period of time, we have made a positive impact on the greater Asbury Park community, which include addressing food insecurity, supporting LGBTQ+ youth, keeping holiday spirits alive and raising literacy awareness in the community.
These projects and campaigns were made possible because of a supportive community and collaborative work with many established organizations. We found people want to give back to this community, and simply need a call-to-action to do so.
