The Asbury Park Chamber of Commerce will welcome Santa Claus to Downtown Asbury Park for the lighting of the newly planted Christmas Tree in Press Plaza. Festivities begin on December 7th at 5:30pm with carolers from Alphabets Preschool. Then at 6:00pm Santa Claus will arrive to light the tree and take pictures delighting children young and old.
The Asbury Park Chamber of Commerce would like to thank the Asbury Park Environmental Shade Tree Commission and the City of Asbury Park’s Department of Public Works for generously providing the downtown with a permanent tree that will continue to grow and bring joy to Asbury Park for many holiday seasons to come.
This tree was planted in honor of fallen New York City Firefighter Michael Cioffi, who for years worked with the Asbury Park Chamber of Commerce and the City of Asbury Park’s Department of Public works to ensure that we always had a beautiful tree downtown for the holiday season.
The Asbury Park Chamber of Commerce will also be giving out hot chocolate from DJ’s Delights and cookies from the bakery at the Culinary Education Center here in Asbury Park.
“Our tree lighting kicks off the season, along with a Holiday Bazaar at the Boardwalk, festive foods at dozens of our restaurants, and retail shops with gifts for everyone on your list, there is no better place to be than Asbury Park for the holidays!” Said APCC Executive Director Matthew Whelan.
